The QM20 Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) combines simplicity of operation with unrivalled accuracy in a compact form factor, delivering precise measurements up to 0.01Hz resolution. In addition, our instrument boasts two independent measurement channels and features MODBUS protocol for implementation in both laboratory and industrial applications alike. QM20 is available in three versions: serial, USB and Ethernet (with PoE).
The measurement channels can be configured depending on your specific needs to work with external (QM20-EO) or internal oscillators. The first channel is universal and allows the user to work with external or internal oscillators depending on software configuration. The second channel is permanently set to work with external oscillator QM20-EO.
The QM20 QCM with a serial interface is available in two configurations: RS232 or RS485(2 wire). The MODBUS-RTU protocol is implemented in both cases. An external power connection in the range of 12-24 VDC is required for operation. The RS485 interface configuration allows for the connection of multiple QM20 devices under the “Single Master – Multi Slave” configuration.
The QM20 QCM with a USB interface also has the MODBUS-RTU protocol implemented. Communication and power supply are provided via a single cable. Although QM20 connects via USB, it integrates as a virtual serial port. Therefore, QM20 may be used like any serial port.
The QM20 QCM with an Ethernet interface has the MODBUS-TCP protocol implemented. The interface utilises PoE technology and therefore requires only a single network cable for data transmission and power supply.
